Mia Hernandez

Mia Hernandez was born in August 1967 in the urban city of Brooklyn, NYC. It was with her family that she first learned to appreciate the importance of an artistic community. Being surrounded by so many creative people provided her with a nurturing artistic environment that encouraged her to explore and learn without boundaries. While traveling through Europe and the Caribbean she had the opportunity to visit the worlds most treasured pieces in history like … The Mona Lisa, Winged Victory, Michael Angelo’s David,Venus de Milo and to view art by Obed Gomez, Elizabeth Baez, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Goya, and so much more.
Mia's family and life experience is what leads her hand and nourishes her creativity. Her family plays a big role in inspiring Mia along with some of her favorite artists like, Frida Kahlo, Goya and Picasso just to name a few. She enjoys experimenting with various mixed mediums and sampling various existences. Mia's paintings are a record of some of her experiences and ideas, they are an expression of her heart and personal truth. Mia says "If I had to sum up my inspirations into one word it would be “Life”.
